Former HELSTAR Vocalist To Perform Special Show

January 15, 2004

Vocalist James Rivera (HELSTAR, SEVEN WITCHES) will play a special show at the 19th Hole Grill & Bar in The Woodlands, Texas this Saturday, January 17.

According to a posting at Metal-Rules.com, "originally expected to perform were Rivera's current main act SEVEN WITCHES, however, a scheduling conflict surrounding their appearance in San Antonio this Friday has prevented the WITCHES from making their presence in Texas at this time. Seven Witches deeply apologizes for this disappointment, but will reschedule a return to Texas in March, after the completion of their next album.

"Instead of canceling the show all together, Rivera has composed a tribute which will take you through the chapters of his life, beginning with the present and will include songs from the bands that not only influenced him, but defined Heavy Metal as we know it today. Rivera and crew will deliver songs from his acts SEVEN WITCHES and HELSTAR, plus the groundbreaking inventors and 'Gods of Metal', JUDAS PRIEST, IRON MAIDEN and BLACK SABBATH, providing his audience and metal following here in Houston the opportunity to experience his metal roots to the fullest extent! FLOTSAM & JETSAM and DESTINY'S END tunes are in the works as well.

"Opening the show will be local act VICIOUS SOUTH, plus the new Z-LOT-Z, now fronted by vocalist Chris Salinas from POWER OF OMENS.

"Also, be on the lookout for the latest Rivera onslaught, DISTANT THUNDER, consisting of local heroes Gregg Gill, Eric Halpern and Rick Ward, plus national recording artist Mike Lepond of SYMPHONY X. The band begins recording their first album here in Houston during the month of February. Those of you who were looking forward to Jack Frost's appearance with SEVEN WITCHES, may be delighted to know that he will be in town producing the record and you may just catch him at some of the local events commencing during that time!"
